Today marketing has evolved so much that we can advertise & promote our businesses, products and services in different countries and cities, nearer or many miles away from us. According to a report, on an average, internet users spend 2 hours and 29 minutes on social networks worldwide and Gen Z spends more than 4.5 hours a day on social media for different purpose such as entertainment, news, information, shopping and messages. Currently, the global social media network penetration rate is nearly 54% and in that Western Europe has more than 79% social media penetration rate. And these percentage is increasing every year with huge jump.

In India, there was a time in 2015, Jio launched like a boom, and change a lot of things in cellular network and internet world. Jio has provided free internet to its subscribers for more than seven months. Although after gaining customers by giving them access to its 4G network entirely for free in 2016, it started charging some very low amount. As a result of which Jio’s prices and 4G infrastructure, analysis estimate that the average internet user has gone from using 700MB of data a month to 11GB. And ultimately, the use of social media sites and applications started increasing more and more.

Recently, in India 5G is launched on 5th October, 2022. The 5G technology is meant to deliver multi-Gbps peak data speeds, ultra-low latency, more reliability, massive network capacity, increased availability, and user friendly.  This will definitely be going to boost the use of social media and marketing through social media. As the power of internet is increasing every month and every year, there is something or the other development after every few months in the world of internet, it is for sure that the future of marketing such as promotions, advertising, public relations, selling, etc., will majorly depend upon online platforms.
